Bio:
Born in Butler, Missouri. Graduate of the US Naval
academy, retired, disabled in 1934. Student of Mathematics and
physics at the University of California. Owner of a silver mine before
starting to write SF.Published under several variations on his name and
a few pseudonyms. Hugo, Nebula (GM) award winner. Often referred to as the Dean of SF.
Three time GOH at WorldCon. Several of his works have been
filmed
