Bio:

Born on March 17 in Philadelphia, PA. B.A. in Creative Writting from the University of Philadelphia (1969), M.A. in teaching from Harvard Graduate School (1970). Has two children by his first marriage to Jean Pierce. Resident of State College, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Kathryn Ann Smith, and his two children.
