Clifford Donald Simak

Biography
Born in Winsconsin, res. of Minnesota. Hugo (59 nvlt,64
novel,81 sh.st.), International Fantasy Award, being the only
writer to have won both these awards. Grand master Nebula 1977.
Born the 3rd of August in Millville Township. Started writing in
1931. Began as a reporter from the Iron River (Mich) reporter
(1929), 1932 was hired by the McGuiffon Newspaper daily and
weekly newspaper of Kansas. 1939 Minn. Star (chief copy desk),
news ed. 1949, developed a science news column for the Star and
Tribune, 1959 a weekly science column, 1976 gave up editing and
concentrated on SF & fact. Unhappy with the pulp dominance he
gave up writing until the appearance of J.W.Campbell.
