Buena VistaHacienda Buena Vista has been restored by the Conservation Trust. This "Good View Estate," a former coffee plantation (dating from 1833), contains slave quarters, a two-story estate house, and exceptional hydraulic machinery. In 1984, the site was purchased because of its unique forest, river, and waterfall. Although the buildings had been largely consumed by termites and the machinery was covered with rust, it has been reconstructed through photos and other records. Carefully restored, it is truly one of the Caribbean's historical gems. Here, coffee grinding is demonstrated.
