St. John is still relatively peaceful, and many visitors only explore a small area of the island. Set on the island's northeast, Hurricane Hole, where ships still shelter during hurricanes, is one of the most idyllic spots. This area is comparatively undeveloped and relatively few people live at this end of the island. There's no public transport, so drive yourself, hitch or walk. You can eat at Vies Snack Shack (conch fritters and other delicacies) or the End of the Road Stand.
